Track Bred EG6 Build…Introduction

Today you guys are in for a special treat…

For the past couple of months there were rumors going around about an insane EG6 Civic being built for the track. The thought of this intrigued us to go out in search of this under the radar project. With a mere snippet of luck we were able to meet up with owner, Jerry Leach.

Upon sight, what we were greeted with was without a doubt way beyond expectations. He had taken basically every enthusiast’s dream of building the ultimate project car and made it into a reality.

Let’s go back to the very beginning when Jerry acquired the car. His goal was to build what was, in his eyes, the ultimate track car. Naturally, being a fan of Honda’s K Series motor, this would be the obvious powerplant of choice to drive this project. With this said, the next step was to hopefully find a purpose-built K swapped car. Jerry was in luck because at the time there was a K swapped EG track car for sale; of course he jumped on this and as they say, the rest was history.

As Jerry is a very meticulous guy, a great amount of attention to detail was paid throughout this build. With the car acquired, the tear down process began and the car was sent off to undergo body work and paint.Today we will be taking a look at the car throughout this process. Enough anticipation, on with the photos…

Shortly after the body work had started…

Stripped all the way down… A view of the cage from the left side and back…

Everything primed and sanded, ready for paint…

Close up shots of the front end before it went off to the painter…

Fresh!!! Back from the booth…

A view of the bay after the Hasport mounts and subframe were installed…

Interior coming together with a bunch of goodies: AiM digital dash display, Momo Mod 07 wheel and custom OBP pedal setup, Recaro Pro Racer SPG seat…

Motor in place with Hybrid Racing fuel rail and RRC intake manifold with Skunk2 70mm throttle body…

I hope you all enjoyed the first look at Jerry’s Track Bred EG6 Build, we’re going to leave you guys with these last few shots of the car after its new paint.

Stay tuned for the next update because you won’t want to miss what happens next…
