Track Bred EG6 Build… Part 26

Recently Jerry had some pretty wild ideas about shedding some weight for the upcoming season. Some of you may think that sentence made absolutely no sense, but for Jerry he saw vast amounts of improvements to be made while shedding a significant amount of weight. Once the car was back from having the widebody kit completed he wasted no time and got to work immediately. Today I will be sharing with you the first stage of this weight reduction process.

For those who would like a full recap of this build, I’ve provided the link below…

Track Bred EG6 Build…

At the top of the list was the firewall… For quite some time now Jerry wanted to replace it with a one off piece but with time running thin in the last redevelopment phase, he wasn’t able to get around to it. Now that the season is complete it was first on his to do list.

A closer look at the now gutted Civic shell…

A collection of the pieces that were removed…

Subframe and steering rack removed…

A better view of the extent of the work that was done…

A glimpse of the interior which received its transformation a little while ago…

As I would have mentioned in a previous post, the fuel cell Jerry was using was a temporary unit to close out the season. For the upcoming season he will resort back to a full size unit.

Suspension arms and neglected Wilwood brakes that haven’t seen any action in quite some time…

Something about having a brand new engine and reusing an old starting motor just wast sitting right with Jerry, so he made sure to get a new one to match…

Showing off the Skunk2 billet aluminum timing chain cover…

4 Piston Racing…

While Jerry was shopping he picked up a K-Tuned billet aluminum oil cap and…

This Trac Tuff coil plug cover…

Full view of the new look for the setup…

Thats a wrap for today, thanks for taking a look…
