Track Bred EG6 Build… Part 21

It has been a while since I last gave you guys an update on Jerry’s EG6 build. As you guys would have known, Jerry’s motor blew at the last race event. Some of you guys might have just built another motor and go at it again, some might have just called it quits at that point and walked away with what they have achieved with the project. However Jerry didn’t, he did what a real car junkie would do… Take the build to another level. As he still hadn’t reached the goals he had in mind it was time to now improve on areas in which he thought were weak and upgrade what was good to better.

In today’s post we start what will basically be in itself, a whole other build in this series. After being down and under the weather for a few days, Jerry regrouped, gathered what info he needed and started to put plans in motion for the next phase. It was time to push forward and improve on certain things that would be necessary for when the new circuit is completed. With a rough idea of the completion date of the new circuit, he went to work immediately.

The first phase of improvement for this build starts basically where the previous build began, with the aesthetics. We’ll be taking a first look at the new aero styling concepts that Jerry will be pushing forward with. Lets get right into it…

For those who would like a full recap of this build, I’ve provided the link below…

Track Bred EG6 Build…

One of the most notable change for the new season is the upgrade from 245/40/17 to 275/35/17 rubber at the front…

With this upgrade in tire size, Jerry thought it would be wise to widened the car to suit…

Some calls were made and work began on a few concepts immediately…

A look at the first concept for the front fenders, which is quite aggressive in comparison to the previous design

A view from above…

With the idea to widen the front, naturally the rear need to be widened as well. Especially since the previous 225/45/27 rubber will be replaced with 245/40/17.

Similar to the front this styling for the rear is quite aggressive…

In going with that look, the rear bumper was also modified to flow better with this new concept…

A look at the back bumper in its entirety…

Here’s a look at the complete side, what are your thoughts?

Working our way to the other side…

Direct view from the rear…

This side is equally as wide but styled from a whole different perspective; with a more subtle approach and the use of the traditional flare…

Aerial view…

Varying angles of the second concept for the front fenders…

Even though this is as aggressive, the lines seem to flow a whole lot smoother than the first concept.

Incorporating its way into the front bumper…

Full view of the second concept…

Some adjustments were needed…

To be made to the rear bumper as well…

You guys can get a rough idea as it starts to take shape…

Varying angles of both front fender concepts…

A final decision was made to go with the second concept of the rear…

Basic idea of how the rear should look…

A slightly more refined view from the other side…

Well that’s a wrap for today’s post, I hope you guys enjoyed it. Thanks for taking a look and stay tuned for the next phase in development…
