K-Swapped EG4 Build… Introduction

In recent times a fair amount of Honda builds seem to be popping up and today I’ll be giving you guys an inside look at one that will be touching the streets very shortly. Here’s a look at Verdon Inniss’s soon to be K-Swapped EG4 Civic.

Verdon has been around the car scene for quite some time and is no stranger to engine swaps either, his most recent project was a 4AGE 20v swapped EP82 starlet with 45 webbers and a TRD close ratio gearbox. Even before his last project he wanted to build a Honda, but it wasn’t until recently when the opportunity finally presented itself and needless to say he ran with it.

The purpose of this build is to have a high performance street car that he can still take to the track and have some fun with from time to time. The car will be kept in full trim while maintaining AC and PS. The goal in mind is to have it finished for the upcoming Drag Warz event on September 22nd.

Let’s start with some shot of when he first got the car ….

The base car was acquired, at the time it was in relatively good shape with not many things to be done before the madness begins…

Not wasting anytime, the car was sent to the body shop to deal with some minor body work and while there Verdon had the guys remove the stock headlights and replaced them with a fresh pair of black housing headlights along with amber corners to enhance the front end.

The windshield needed to be removed…

As it sits, the car currently has a D-Series motor…

A few more areas that needed to be taken care of was around the right taillight and the roof where it meets the back glass…

Verdon also had them fit a lip to the front bumper as well as…

A duckbill spoiler…

A look at the front end reassembled…

Everything complete and ready to leave the body shop and on to the next stop…

I took a couple of shot so you guys can see the condition of the car after it left the body shop…

The new lights and lip really made did wonders for the front end…

I’m not sure if you would have realized in any of the previous photos but the car also has a sun roof that still works, which for a car this age is pretty amazing.

Enough of the car for now, let’s take a look at some of the goodies…

Hybrid Racing K-Swap engine mounts…

Hybrid Racing header that Verdon plans on using…

Finishing up the exhaust department, a full 3″ catback exhaust was purchased…

Moving on to the suspension side of things, red LCAs along with a matching red subframe brace.

Wheels of choice are a set of 16″ Motegi Racing wheels wrapped in Toyo rubber…

Jacked up and ready to begin the swap…

Parting shots of the D-Series motor…

Out with the old and time to prepare for the new, bay in desperate need of a wash down…

D-Series motor dropped with other misc parts…

And finally something you probably been looking for throughout the entire post… Here are some shots of what will be going in next…

A complete JDM spec  K20A swap from a DC5… Well that’s it for today, I hope you enjoyed the first look at Verdon’s EG4 project, stay tuned for the next update…
