Dominic’s KP61 Build… Part 6

So very close… That’s exactly how far this build is from completion. It has a been a long time coming but Dominic is basically putting on the finishing touches on this build.

This was definitely no doubt about it, a build like no other and I hope you guys enjoyed it through all the various phases. I certainly had a great time being granted the opportunity to showcase it.

Today I will be giving you guys some insight on the final few things that need to be done to bring this build to an end.

For those who may need a recap on this build the link to the previous posts is below…

Dominic’s KP61 Build…

Electrician busy trying to finish up the last pieces of the harness…

Wilwood reverse mounted pedals…

Engine bay looking really good…

Front end complete with bumper, corner lights and grille…

Side profile looking period correct sitting on the Tom’s wheels…

AC lines finally ran…

For some reason this shot has a dated feel to it…

With all the fancy bits from Techno Toy Tuning suspension catalog, Dominic needed to take the car for a full wheel alignment…

Another stop along the way that the Starlet needed to make was to get the exhaust done…

A short clip of the first drive…

A view from the back now everything is together…

Door panel look like they came straight from the Toyota dealership…

At last you guys get to take a look at what the completed interior looks like… I must say things came together much better than I initially expected…

Bucket seat colour matched to flow better with the interior. What they once looked like when Dominic first brought the car home.

Coming on to the final stages of completion, Dominic had reservations on if he should even attempt at re-upholstering the bucket seats or just ditch them altogether. In the end he took the chance and as you can see it was well worth it.

One more close up of the Techno Toy Tuning suspension setup…

Underbody shot of where the gearbox meets the driveshaft…

And where the driveshaft meets the Carina rear end…

Of course I can’t forget to show you guys how the custom 2″ exhaust was ran…

Where the exhaust bends to go over the rear end…

Then out through the muffler…

In terms of fitment of the front end, everything came out flawless…

Couldn’t forget to include some more shots of the completed engine bay…

With a view like this it would be nice to hear how it sounds…

There are still a few things that need to be sorted out through further tuning but for now the car is driveable…

That’s it of today’s post on Dominic’s KP61 build, thanks for taking a look…
