Daryl’s Rally K-EG Build… Part 8

Back again with another update on Daryl’s rally K-EG build, in the previous update he was finalizing the fitment of the new gearbox and axles. Today we’ll be taking a look of the process leading up to the beginning of the season, with the engine finally back from 4 Piston Racing and some other changes that the car will be seeing.

For those who are viewing this post for the first time, I’ve provided links to the entire build below.

Daryl’s Rally K-EG Build…

Some modifications have been made to the hood to allow some fresh air to be funneled through the Kinsler ITBs…

As you can see the car is now back at home, still engine-less with the front end pretty much disassembled…

A few shots of the Sedev chilling in the bay patiently waiting…

Meanwhile at 4 Piston Racing…

The motor is finally complete and ready to ship…

Fast forward a few weeks, it finally arrives and Daryl wastes no time…

One of the upgrades that have been made, is the use of an external oil pump. This will improve oil pressure and would also aid with ground clearance.

Motor finally rested in its new home, mated to the Sadev box…

A closer look at the external oil pump setup. Unfortunately there was some clearance issues with the pump and the chassis of the car, and Daryl had to have a bracket fabricated to suit.

The necessary modifications being made to the sump to accommodate  for use of the external oil pump…

Out with the old…

In with the new… ASP custom built header that will be a vast improvement over the previous header…

Russell putting in some work on the shifter rod, making sure he gets the bends as precise as possible.

Test fitting… Looks about right…

And it works too…

Shifter completed and powdercoated…

Close up of the 4 pot Brembos and Sadev gearbox…

Due to the upgrade to the Sadev gearbox, the axles needed to be changed…

Another look at the completed shifter rod connected to the gearbox…

4 Piston Built K20A2 motor….

Everything coming together nicely…

A few shots of the 4 Piston Racing powerplant…

Close up of the Kinsler ITBs…

Test fitting of the new ASP header…

With the issues finally resolved with the pump, here is how it looks installed…

A view of the traction bars and modified sump fitted…

Front end back together and looking damn good…

View of the hood closed awaiting the scoop…

A first look at the hood scoop…

Test fitted and looking pretty good, just need to be painted to complete the exterior…

Hondata in place and ready to go…

A short video of the first start-up…

That’s it for today’s update, thanks for a taking a look and stay tuned for the next update in this series, coming coon…

Progress So Far…

As promised in my last post New Project , today I’m bringing you an update of the progress I’ve made with the bar so far. For starters, the name has been changed from T.D.S Bar & Grill to T.P.S Bar & Grill, those of you who follow me on Instagram would have noticed. In a discussion with some friends it made sense to not associate drinking with driving, so it was pretty much a no brainer to decide to switch the name from ‘The Driver’s Seat’ to ‘The Passenger’s Seat’. Opening night went better than expected, I have to thank everyone that passed through and supported me. Since then things have been coming along pretty decent. I’ve taken a few shots for you guys to see how the place looks now in comparison to the last post. Sorry for the poor quality photos, at the time the only available camera was the one on my phone. On to the photos…

Paint work completed…

Some of the drinks that were purchased…

Finally finished in the nick of time for opening night…

Opening night shots!!!!….

As a result of opening night… the wall of fame or shame, depending on who you ask…

A much needed purchase to make things significantly easier behind the bar…

With a new fridge, stock is needed…

Fridge fully stocked…

Hard at work trying to get the shutters installed…

A few random shots of the current state in which the bar is in…

The most current addition…

Something especially for the sports fans…

That’s about it for today’s post, a look into the evolution of T.P.S thus far. I’m still in the process of trying to iron out some kinks but all in all its starting to take shape. Even though most of my time has been spent working on the bar, I’ve still been trying to put together some content for you guys to check out which I will post in the next few days. Thanks for taking a look and feel free to stop by to check out the bar…
